URSULA HEGGE has been writing music since an early age, and developing from catchy love songs to complicated ballads and sweet guitar serenades, she is only continuing to grow at the young age of 20. Thoughtful and melancholy, but enthusiastic and entertaining, Ursula's profound and mature lyrics are highlighted with improvised alto saxophone and breaks of jazz-inspired scatting. She frames her music in terms of "ballads and bops - ballads to make you feel and bops to make you move", and thinks of herself primarily as an overall musician as opposed to a singer. Having performed solo and with professional groups since a young age, Hegge now performs wherever she can, especially in her community.
Ursula also works with local producers as talent, such as in Lex Junior’s 2019 track “Driftin”, and recording her own music, such as at Noble Street Studios recording her powerful yet-unreleased track “Do You Like This Song”. She is also writing, recording, and mixing her own music, with recent releases “15 Hours by Plane”, rap single “Understand”, and even her own Christmas song, “Red and White”. Her upcoming release “With You” is based on her experiences travelling during her gap year, and showcases her versatility as an artist: Ursula Hegge isn’t a pop artist or a country artist or an RNB artist – she enjoys exploring the grey areas between genres, and moves from rap to acoustic to piano ballads (and everything in between) like she was born to do it.
